Enhanced
aquaponics
FISH&I aims to revolutionize aquaponics by integrating advanced IoT and AI technologies, bringing environmental sustainability and energy efficiency to an industrial scale.
We are developing a standardized model for aquaponic facilities that optimizes environmental parameters:
What is it?
Our Goal: Advancing Aquaponics from TRL6 to TRL9.
Through the FISH&I project, we aim to elevate aquaponic systems from Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 to TRL 9. This involves implementing an innovative approach that integrates Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
How does it innovate?
INNOVATION OF THE PROJECT
The FISH&I project represents a vanguard in the field of sustainable aquaponics, combining product, process, and service innovations through the use of advanced technologies. This multidimensional approach aims to surpass the state-of-the-art in several key areas by integrating innovative solutions for technological progress and environmental sustainability. This translation maintains a formal tone while highlighting the project’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in aquaponics. It emphasizes how FISH&I integrates various technological advancements to achieve both environmental sustainability and technological progress.
PROCESS INNOVATION
The definition of aquaponics as an ecosystem involves addressing seasonal efficiency challenges faced by microorganisms through the introduction of an ammonia cracking device. This device converts ammonia into hydrogen to be used as a renewable energy source. This technology leads to a substantial transformation in the plant’s energy production and consumption processes, enhancing energy efficiency while reducing environmental impact.
SERVICE INNOVATION
Implementation of a turnkey aquaponic system, offering a comprehensive and optimized solution tailored to meet specific customer needs. This approach fosters local food production and reduces food miles.
GREEN-LOW COST TECHNOLOGIES
The use of IoT sensors and AI algorithms for environmental monitoring and optimization represents a significant leap in the efficiency and sustainability of the aquaponic facility. Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) contribute to the restoration, monitoring, conservation, and valorization of biodiversity, with particular focus on water management and waste reduction.
